COVID-19 GUIDELINES Q. What guidelines will you be following regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. A. The Sports Industry Academy will be following the guidelines of UC Santa Barbara. All participants will need to be fully vaccinated with proof of vaccination.
Q. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, what will the living arrangements be? A. A. Scholars will be housed in theSanta Rosaresidence hall on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara. For safety concerns, all scholars should be vaccinated. Scholars will share a room with one other scholar. The room will have with a bed, desk, linens, pillows and blankets. Scholars may bring their own bedding. Rooms will be fully sanitized prior to the arrival of the scholars.
Q. Who is eligible for the Sports Industry Academy Workshop and Summer Program? A. We will accept applications from rising freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school (Fall, 2023) who are mature and in good academic standing. We are also accepting applications from current college/university students.
Q. Once accepted to the program, what is the timetable to make the total payment for the program? A. Summer Program - Total payments must be made within 48 hours from the day your acceptance letter is received via email. Partial payment options are available for extraordinary circumstances. Please contact us at info@SportsIndustryAcademy.com if you would like to discuss this further. Note: Failure to pay within the grace period listed above will result in you forfeiting your selection to attend the Summer Program. After April 1st, the total payment must be made within 2 days from the day your acceptance letter is received via email. After May 1st, you will have 24 hours for total payment. Failure to pay within the grace period listed above will result in you forfeiting your selection to attend the Sports Industry Academy Summer Program.
Q. What type of payments are accepted? A. Major credit cards, debit card, and Pay Pal.
Q. What is the refund policy? A. Summer Program - Refunds are available prior to June 15, 2023. No refunds will be available after June 15, 2023. All refunds require a $50 administrative cost.
Q. Are there scholarships available? A. Yes, a very limited amount of partial scholarships are available. Please inquire by contacting us at info@SportsIndustryAcademy.com
Q. What will the scholars need for the SUMMER PROGRAM? A. The scholars will need a computer/tablet (if possible), clothing, bedding (if applicable - housing will provide minimum), toiletries, etc. We will provide a full list of items prior to your arrival.
Q. What will the housing accommodations be for the Scholars during the summer program? (Residential Program Only) A. Scholars will be housed in theSanta Rosaresidence hall on the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara. For safety concerns, Scholars will be provided with their own room. share a room and will be provided with a bed, desk, linens, pillows and blankets. Scholars may bring their own bedding. Rooms will be fully sanitized prior to the arrival of the scholars.
Q. What will the overnight supervision/security be for the Scholars during the summer program? (Residential Program Only) A. The Santa Rosa residence hall will be managed by the U.C. Santa Barbara Conference Services department. After-hours entry to residence halls is controlled by restricted access electronic keys. In addition, all residence halls and apartments are patrolled by the Community Service Organization (CSO) in cooperation with the U.C. Santa Barbara Police Department. Director, Walter Bogganas well as two Sports Industry Academy Interns will also be housed in the Santa Rosa residence halls during the duration of the Sports Industry Academy summer program.
If accepted, the Sports Industry Academy will send the Scholars and their parents/guardians a detailed program outline which will include direct contact information and resources for the Sports Industry Academy summer program.
Q. When do accepted Scholars need to arrive at U.C. Santa Barbara during the summer program? (Residential Program Only) A. Accepted Scholars will need to report to the Santa Rosa residence hall on Sunday, July 23, 2023 between the times of 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (pst) Check out will be the afternoon of Friday, July 28, 2023. A detailed itinerary will be sent to Scholars and their parents/guardians prior to arrival.
Q. Are shuttles available to and from the Santa Barbara airport? (Residential Program Only) A. Yes, complimentary shuttle service to and from the Santa Barbara Airport and the Goleta station of the Santa Barbara Airbus is available through the Santa Rosa residence hall front desk. Detailed information will be sent to accepted Scholars.
Q. Is the Sports Industry Academy a U.C. Santa Barbara program? A. No, the Sports Industry Academy is an independent program that is hosted at U.C. Santa Barbara through an agreement with U.C. Santa Barbara Conference Services.
